Companies near the Devanahalli aerospace park, and who can live close by
Few property claims are stretched as far as "walk to work". Usually it just means an office park exists somewhere in the same PIN code. Around Devanahalli the claim is nearer the truth than usual. So it is worth naming the employers close to the KIADB Aerospace Park and explaining what each does.
Employers inside the Aerospace Park
Wistron
Wistron is the closest large employer, and it strengthens the walk-to-work case more than any other. The Taiwanese company reached an agreement with Karnataka in early 2024 and received 32 acres in Phase 2, the same phase where Prestige Parklane stands. The factory should employ about 3,000 people. It makes laptops under contract for international brands, with over half of production exported, and also handles warranty repairs, inventory and logistics.
Shapoorji Pallonji won the building contract, and output was planned to begin in January 2026. Two caveats are fair to mention. Wistron no longer assembles iPhones in India, having sold its Kolar plant to Tata Electronics in 2023. A planned start date also does not prove a factory is running. Published figures for Wistron's investment disagree widely, so no single amount is quoted here.
Boeing
Boeing's India Engineering and Technology Centre covers 43 acres. It cost ₹1,600 crore and opened in January 2024. No other Boeing investment of this type outside the US is larger. The staff here work on aerospace engineering, software and design, not on assembly lines.
Safran HAL Aircraft Engines
This joint venture started in 2022 and operates from plots in the Aerospace SEZ at Kavadadasanahalli, Devanahalli. It makes parts for the LEAP engine and for the M88 engine used in the Rafale fighter. In February 2025, Safran also committed around 30 million euros to a Bengaluru avionics and actuation engineering centre and plant, expected to employ roughly 400 people.
Other tenants
- Collins Aerospace operates on about 25 acres of SEZ plots through its Goodrich Aerospace arm.
- Dynamatic Technologies builds aircraft structures at its 27 acre "Dynamatic Aerotropolis".
- Wipro Infrastructure Engineering produces hydraulic and aerospace parts on its own SEZ plot.
Reports put direct employment across the park at more than 5,000 people.
Major employers just outside the park
Foxconn
By headcount, Foxconn is the biggest employer on the corridor. Its iPhone plant covers roughly 300 acres near Devanahalli, backed by about ₹20,000 crore. It hired 30,000 people within eight months, and the state target is 50,000. Most workers are young, and around 80 per cent are women. A workforce like this creates strong demand for small rental homes, which is exactly where a one-bedroom flat fits.
AxisCades Aerospace
AxisCades announced its plans in May 2026: ₹6,000 crore in three phases, on 200 acres near Devanahalli. It expects 20,000 direct jobs and 54,000 indirect ones, and has proposed a private runway of 1.8 km. The project is at an early stage, but it is the biggest announcement on the corridor since Foxconn.
Kempegowda International Airport
An airport moving 44.47 million passengers and 532,000 tonnes of cargo each year employs a great many people itself. Its workforce includes cabin crew, ground handlers, cargo staff, security teams, retail workers and engineers. The ₹19,800 crore terminal expansion will add more jobs up to 2028.
Bengaluru Airport City
Inside the airport's boundary, a 460 acre business district is planned to exceed 45 million square feet by 2040. Its first phase is a 2 million square foot business park for global capability centres. Hotels include the Taj, with 370 rooms, and a Ginger with 325 rooms. In June 2026, Prestige signed with the Airport City company to build a convention centre, hotels and offices there.
NTT Bengaluru 4
NTT opened Bengaluru's largest data centre campus in December 2025, at Prestige Tech Cloud in Devanahalli. It employs few people by design, but it shows how much power and fibre capacity this corridor has.
Employers compared
| Employer | Where | Type of work | Salary profile |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wistron | Aerospace Park, Phase 2 | Laptop manufacturing | Mostly line, some engineering |
| Boeing | Aerospace Park | Engineering and design | Professional |
| Safran HAL | Aerospace SEZ | Engine components | Skilled and professional |
| Collins, Dynamatic, Wipro | Aerospace SEZ | Aerostructures, hydraulics | Skilled and professional |
| Foxconn | Adjacent, about 300 acres | iPhone assembly | Mostly entry-level line |
| Airport and Airport City | Airport boundary | Aviation, logistics, offices | Wide spread |
Not all these jobs mean home buyers
From a property buyer's view, these jobs are not all alike.
Foxconn's 30,000 staff are mostly young assembly workers on starting wages. They create a lot of demand for small rentals, but very few can buy a ₹1 crore flat.
Boeing, Safran, Collins and Dynamatic pay engineers enough to buy homes costing ₹1 to ₹1.5 crore. Their numbers, though, run to thousands rather than tens of thousands.
The airport and Airport City fall in between, with pay ranging widely. Adding all these figures together and calling the total your pool of buyers makes no sense. A more realistic view is that rental demand is deep, while purchase demand from engineers and aviation staff is moderate. Buying demand should grow as Airport City's offices fill.
Why a short commute is valuable
Long commutes are one of the main reasons people leave Bengaluru. If you live here and work in the Aerospace Park, your journey takes minutes, not hours. That benefit does not fade over time.
From Manyata or Hebbal the drive is manageable. From Whitefield or Electronic City it is not, regardless of what a map suggests, at least until the Blue Line connects at KR Puram. So here is a simple test. Buy here if you work here, work further north, or fly often. Buying here while commuting to the eastern IT belt becomes harder to justify each year.
Where Parklane fits
Prestige Parklane sits inside the park itself, not next to it. Its RERA record gives the address as Plot No. 24, Hi-Tech, Defence and Aerospace Park Phase 2. That puts it in the same phase as Wistron and within the park that hosts Boeing, Safran and the SEZ companies. It was registered on 15 September 2026 with completion due on 31 December 2030. Its 858 one-bedroom flats are designed around exactly this workforce.
