The SENSEX rose as much as 0.5% to hit an intraday high of 76,924.48. The NIFTY50 climbed as much as 0.5% to touch a peak of 24,025.40. Both indices slipped off their day's high by the afternoon, but stayed in the green. At 1:02 PM, the SENSEX traded at 76,609.40, up 39.05 points, or 0.05%. Foreign institutional investors, or FIIs, bought shares worth Rs 6,688.37 crore on Wednesday. Domestic institutional investors, or DIIs, bought shares worth Rs 2,812.98 crore on a net basis, per exchange data. A strong rupee and strong global cues also lifted investor mood.
Adani Ports, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and SBI led the NIFTY50 gainers. Titan Company, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Bajaj Finance, and Nestle India were among the top losers.

RBL Bank
RBL Bank shares jumped as much as 5.2% to hit a 52-week high of Rs 409.65 on the NSE. The private lender said it has raised $3.4 billion through FCNR-B deposits. August 31 was the last date for the scheme.
"Our deposit mobilisation under RBI's FCNR (B) swap facility stands at $3.4 billion," the bank said in a filing. The scheme ran up to August 31, 2026. The bank's international unit has given out loans worth $1.08 billion against these deposits.
Banking stocks gained overall too. India drew $127.23 billion in FCNR-B deposits under the RBI's special forex swap deal. The scheme closed on August 31, a month earlier than planned, after a strong response from Indians living abroad.
Godrej Consumer Products
Godrej Consumer Products shares fell 5% to hit a 52-week low of Rs 859.55. Investors reacted to cautious guidance on India business growth. The company recently named a new CEO, who now plans to expand its product range.

Barclays, Citi, Deutsche Bank, Emirates NBD, and UBS managed the deal. The bonds carry a coupon of 7.55% a year. The order book crossed $700 million, more than 2.3 times the issue size, across 64 top accounts.
By region, the US took 49% of the allocation, Asia took 39%, and EMEA took 12%. By investor type, asset and fund managers took 91% and insurance firms took 5%. Banks took the rest.
Lumino Industries
